Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do we need to bring linens?
A.  The cabins are fully furnished with all linens.  We typically stock the cabin with 4 bath towels.  You may want to bring a beach towel if you plan on using the pool or hot tubs frequently.

Q. What kind of fish do you have, and do we need a license?
A. We have two stocked ponds.  One has strictly bass and perch, and the other also has catfish.  You do not need a license, and the fishing is catch and release.

Q. Do you provide fishing equipment and bait?
A. We do not supply equipment or bait.

Q. What type of coffee pots do you have?
A. We provide organic, Fair Trade, instant coffee and tea.  We also provide an "old school" stove top percolator if you would like to bring your own coffee.

Q. How are the roads?
A. The roads on the property are 8ft wide, gravel roads.  We maintain them with a farm tractor.  When it rains we have mud puddles and when it is dry we have dust.  We also have low areas where water crosses the road during heavy rains.

Q. Do you have WiFi at the cabins?
A. Unfortunately, due to the remoteness of each cabin, we do not have WiFi available at each cabin.  We do have WiFi at our office that guests may use, and in our business center.

Q. Do you have DVD players?
A. The cabins have DISH network with over 150 channels.  We do not have DVD players.

Q. Where is the closest gas station and grocery store?
A. Glen Rose is the closest town with any services.  It is 15 miles from the ranch.

Q. I cannot get to the ranch by the check-in time, what do I do?
A. Check in time is any time after 3PM, an envelope with your name on it, containing your key, a property map and a policy letter will be on the office door.

Q. Will I see animals?
A.  All of the animals on the ranch are free ranging and we cannot guarantee they will visit your cabin.  Hiking trails around the ranch are available to try to increase your odds of seeing the wildlife.

Q.  Are the animals aggressive?
A.  None of our animals are aggressive.  We do ask that you do not try to approach closer than 100 feet and that you use caution.  A friendly animal can still step on you or bite!
