DIRECTIONS TO THE HIDEAWAY
From Waco:
-
Take Highway 6 North to Hico.
-
From Hico take Highway 220 North to US 67.
-
Turn right on 67 and go only one-half mile.
-
You'll see a blue and white sign on the right
indicating "Hideaway Ranch & Retreat - 4miles".
-
Across from that sign, on your left, is Erath County
Road 196.
-
Turn left on 196 and check your odometer.
-
Drive 4.8 miles on 196.
-
At about the 4 mile mark, you'll come to a fork in
the road.
-
Keep to the right.
-
Then look for our sign on your left. It's brown with
white lettering, showing the legend, "The Hideaway".

Turn left though the rustic wooden
entrance by the sign
and drive down the long hill.
-
Stop at the "Office" sign and come on in.
From Houston:
-
Take Highway 6 North to Hico, via Waco.
-
Staying on Hwy 6 as you enter Waco from the south is
tricky. Watch the signs carefully.

Follow the "From Waco"
section above for directions from Hico.
From Austin:
-
Take Highway 183 North to Lampasas.
-
From Lampasas, take Highway 281 North to Hico.
-

From San Antonio:
-
Take Highway 281 (San Pedro) North to Lampasas.

Stay on 281 North to Hico.
-

From West Texas:
-
Go to Stephenville.
-
Take US 67 North from Stephenville
toward Glen Rose.
-
Stay on 67 for about 19 miles out of Stephenville.
-
On the right, you'll see a blue and white sign
indicating "The Hideaway Ranch & Retreat - 4 miles".

Just across from it, on your left, is Erath County
Road 196
-
Check your odometer.
-
Turn left on 196 and drive 4.8 miles.
-
At about the 4 mile mark, you'll see a fork in the
road.
-
Keep to the right.
-
Just beyond the fork, past the next cattleguard,
you'll see our sign. It's brown and white, bearing the
legend "The Hideaway Ranch & Retreat".

Turn left through the rustic wooden
entrance by the
sign and drive down the long hill.
-
Stop at the "Office" sign and come on in.
From Fort Worth:
-
Take US 377 South to Granbury.
-
Stay on the US 377 bypass (do NOT take the 377
Business exit).
-
Immediately after crossing Lake Granbury, exit to
your right at the "Highway 144 Granbury, Glen Rose"
sign.
-
Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto 144
North toward downtown Granbury.
-
Go to the first stop light and turn left onto Hwy
51/56.
-
Follow Hwy 51/56 toward Paluxy.
-
About 10 miles out of Granbury, 51 and 56 split.
-
Follow 51 to the right, toward Paluxy.
-
At Paluxy (just a wide spot in the road, nothing
much there but a church), note your odometer reading.
-
Stay on 51 another 4.8 miles past Paluxy.
-
You will approach a sharp (90 degree) left curve on
51.
-
To your right, almost straight ahead, Somervell
County Road 1014 joins 51.
-
Turn right onto 1014 and drive another 2.3 miles.
-
Now follow the directions below "From
County Road 1014"
From Dallas:
-
Follow US 67 through Cleburne to Glen Rose.
-
Stay on US 67 S. through Glen Rose to FM 205.
-
Turn right on FM 205.
-
Stay on 205 past the cutoff to Dinosaur Valley State
Park.
-
About 10 miles out of Glen Rose, FM 205 dead-ends
into Hwy 51.
-
Turn left on 51 and go to County Road 1014 (it will
be the first paved road on your right).
-
Turn right onto 1014 and drive another 2.3 miles.
-
Now follow the directions below "From
County Road 1014"
From
County Road 1014:
-
County Road 1014 pavement ends at about the 2 mile
mark.
-
You'll drive the last half mile or so on a dirt
road.
-
Look for the brown and white sign on the right
showing the legend, "The Hideaway".
-
Also note the road sign showing "PR 1250".
-
Turn right at the signs, through the
rustic wooden entrance, and drive down the long hill.
-
Stop at the "Office" sign and come on in.
