Activities on the Ranch

Horseback Riding
|
|
Horseback Rides: Get ready to
saddle up! We'll take you on a guided one
hour tour of our property for $40 per person.
Riders 10-17 year old must be accompanied by
guardian.
Children 4-9 years of age - we
offer a 15 minute ride while being led from the
ground, in our arena. $20 for first
child ($15 for each additional child)
Please call 254-823-6606 to schedule your
time in the saddle. If this is an
important part of your visit, please make sure
and schedule ahead of time. This is a
first come, first served amenity.

Chief 3D Archery Range |
Right on the
Bulls Eye!
Fun for all ages! Come practice
your archery skills at the Big Chief Archery Range.
Bring your own bow or rent one at the office.
After practicing on the traditional targets, you can
walk thru a maze of hiking trails. You'll
never know when you'll see one of our 3D targets:
coyote, turkey, wild boar, deer & a fox. They
are watching you! |
Guests staying on the ranch can use the range for
$10.00 per day, includes bow/arrow rental.

Robbery Scavenger Hunt |

Help us catch
those tyrants! |
Help y'all! Buffalo Gulch is in trouble - the
bank was robbed! We need your help to find out
who done it! To crack this case, you'll need
to locate our clue boxes around the ranch.
Remember, the person who solves this mystery is
rewarded with an honorary sheriff's badge from the
Buffalo Gulch mayor. |

the Texas heat? Take a dip in the pool! |
You'll love cooling off in our 20,000
gallon stock tank. There's a couple of decks
with pool
furniture for guest use, too. Make a day of
it, relaxing at the pool! |

| We have several stocked ponds that host such species as
Black Bass, Catfish and Perch. We have a catch and release
program here. Please bring your own fishing tackle. We'll
give you a map of the property with pond locations when
you arrive! |

Hiking and Animal Watching

| We've created hiking trails that
offer scenic views of the property. Regardless of the trail,
you'll enjoy being so close to nature while you exercise. |

Picnicking

| Designated picnic areas are scattered throughout the
property. We have located them under nice shady oak trees
and near ponds. After hiking our trails, a nice picnic
with your special someone will top off the afternoon. |
